VBR Rave: Tata Harper’s Vegan-Friendly Skincare Line
Some of my fave green beauty bloggers have been raving about Tata Harper skincare for quite awhile, and I’ve be dying to try out their luxe line of vegan-friendly skincare goodies for myself. Tata Harper is an all-natural, cruelty-free skincare brand that uses super high quality and sustainable ingredients. They’re also Eco-Cert & Leaping Bunny approved, and everything in their line is handmade in Vermont using highly effective, squeaky clean ingredients with a focus on anti-aging, health, and wellness.
I was over the moon when Tata Harper sent me a few of their skin treats to try out. Let’s take a closer look!
Nourishing Oil Cleanser, $65 – I’ve been almost exclusively oil cleansing for the past 7+ months, so when I received this in the mail, I was like “MEGA score!” This oil cleanser is unlike any of the oil cleansers I’ve tried before though, and that’s because the ingredients aren’t just straight up oils (see ingredient list below). My experience with oil cleansers is that they leave a slight (and much welcome IMO) oily residue which allows you to skip moisturizer afterward if you’d like (even though I never do). Btw, you can totes cancel out the slick feeling by adding a teensy amount of castile soap to your oil cleanser when applying. Anywho, this cleanser doesn’t need any castile whatsoever… it initially has an oily feeling when you first put in on your face, but the second you add water and massage it into your skin, it acts like a traditional, non-greasy cleanser – leaving zero oily residue. It’s gentle and does an amaaazing job at removing makeup, too (even stubborn waterproof mascara – amen!), and it leaves skin feeling soft and nourished. I think I’m obsessed! It also has a lovely delicate floral scent, which of course appeals to my girlie-ass self.

Revitalizing Body Oil, $95 – I always get nervous about body oils because I loathe that feeling of jimmy jams sticking to my legs post-bath & oily rub down… it’s SO gross. This oils is surprisingly not greasy at all. I don’t even understand! It smells amazing (floral, uplifting), it’s fast-absorbing, and it’s loaded with anti-aging, hydrating and restorative properties. It’s got a hefty price tag (maybe hold out for a sale?), but it’s definitely a luxurious treat if you wannna splurge for hella soft and sexy skin.
Ingredients: Helianthus annuus (Sunflower) seed oil*, Vitis vinifera (Grape) seed oil*, Olea europea (Olive) oil*, Sambucus nigra (Elderberry) fruit extract, Borago Officinalis Leaf Extract*, Medicago sativa (Alfalfa) leaf Extract*, Arnica montana leaf Extract*, Calendula officinalis flower Extract*, Aroma**, Limonene, Geraniol, Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, Citronellol, Citral, Farnesol, Eugenol *Ingredients from organic farming ** Clinical grade essential oils blend
Aromatic Stress Treatment, $80 (0.16 fl oz, 5 ml roll-on vial) – OK, this product might as well be called “Sunny’s Chill the F Oil Oil” because it really does tame the crazy in me. I can be a totaly stress case – I’ve got a lot on my plate including taking care of my two lovable hugabugs, ages 1 and 3. Life gets cray and essential oils have always been my go-to for relaxation. This all-natural and non-toxic aromatherapy treatment has a soothing and uplifting blend of organic florals and essential oils (rose otto, linden blossom, neroli, and frankincense) that have been know to help dispel anxiety and stress. It honestly does help calm my nerves, I kid you not. I apply it to my wrists, inhale deeply a few times, and let the stress melt away. This is handy for toting in your purse while you’re out and about. Ya never know when stress is gonna sneak up on you! That price tag, though… ouch!
Ingredients: Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Sambucus Nigra Fruit Extract, Aroma**, Citral, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Methyl Eugenol *Ingredients from organic farming ** Clinical grade essential oils blend
Overall impression: This line ain’t cheap, y’all. It just ain’t. *sad face* That being said, if you’re in the mood to splurge on some truly luxurious, highly effective, vegan-friendly body treats, this is the route to go. I am beyond blown away by the 3 items above, and I’m super eager to try more, budget permitting. I’m trippin’ out on the greaslessness of the the oil cleanser and body oil, and am blown away by the armoatheapeautic benefits of their magical stress relieving oil blend. I am 100% sold on this line. Well, if they went completely vegan (I don’t believe any of their cosmetics are bee-free), I would definitely propose marriage. 😉 Btw, you can peep all of their vegan options here.
Have you tried Tata Harper? Which items are your faves?
